The Impassable Horizon

Lloyd James Fantastic tech/prog death, with lots of variation and strong melodic lines throughout the songs. The chorus of Epitaph stuck with me for weeks. Easily makes my top 5 of 2021. Favorite track: Epitaph.
Tampertronics

Tampertronics Tasteful tech DM with exquisite arrangements. The album is full of playful time signature changes. The songs are a bit funky but frequently lovely - the sax takes it to another level. Feels like some of the proper prog rock from the '70s, like Caravan and early Genesis, but with blasting metal breaks. Amazing. Favorite track: A Clockwork Expectation.

metalheadrr3 Come on - a sax solo in the middle of a metal track and it somehow works. Sold. Favorite track: A Clockwork Expectation.
