I've been a fan of Rivers since "Monarchy." Many dismissed that record as paint by the numbers tech death, but what I heard was a level of atmosphere and restraint not common amongst the genre. With this release, the guys have fully embraced prog, as well as a overall darker mood. What gets me the most is how brutally beautiful songs like "Hollow" are. Take notes, Rivers of Nihil is the new standard for death metal. Hailz miasmatheory

I found out about these guys when Andrew Kim joined as their bassist, and being a fan of his playing led me to check out the band. Now I finally have a physical copy of this tech-death bludgeoning, and can die happy. This band absolutely shreds, standing up perfectly alongside bands like Allegaeon! Tom's Reviews
